Crystal | (Relationship) Counsellor - Family therapist
Relationship Counselling Richmond
My name is Crystal. Born in Wellington, raised in Austria, and back in New Zealand as a 20 year-old - with an accent to boot! Once back, I continued studying - and soon realizing that the most fascinating study of all was the human mind and soul. So I embarked on learning what improves well-being. This fascination has never stopped.
Besides graduating as a clinical Arts Therapist, I added a post-graduate Diploma in Counselling and Guidance (with distinction), CBT, DBT, Cultural Studies, Trauma Therapy, Addiction, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Offending, Family Therapy, Couples Therapy and Dispute Resolution/Mediation.
The areas I have worked in in regard to couple counselling include disruptions in intimacy due to trauma (PTSD), depression, anxiety, boredom, grief and loss. I have also worked with couples wanting to work through the consequences of an affair, facing serious health issues, redundancy or retirement, and wanting to resolve wider family issues.
The way I work is based on evaluating all areas in a person's or couples' life that has been affected, and to decide together what needs our attention first.
The values that shaped me into the therapist I am today may not be too dissimilar to what brought you to read this – willingness to face obstacles, hope in the face of challenges, and acknowledgement that at times we need the input of others to find our True North again.
If you want to know more or make an appointment, feel free to contact me via the Send a message - button.

Online therapy
If, for any reasons, you need to select online therapy, please let me ensure you that the quality and outcome will not suffer! As long as you feel comfortable with me in and after the first session, you will have the advantage of choosing a time to your liking.I offer Teams as a platform and will send you an invite via email for you to accept - it really is that easy!
(Please note that there is also the possibility of combining face-to-face counselling with online or phone)
I have worked with many clients with Teams, Zoom or via phone over the years, and have had only positive feedback. Many of them appreciated the fact that they had my full attention and that there was no need to travel to a counselling office.
